oh man i feel dumb now. i was gonna make a video of makin a rib eye too, and holy hell would it of been a keeper. i cut and cooked a 2.5″ bone in Rib eye (almost a roast…) and got it nice and medium rare with a good sear, i used Kingsford charcoal and got that badboy up to almost 600. i used a bit of hickory after i seared all the sides shut. but it was so entertaining to sear it. flames almost 2 feet high when i was finishin. low and slow’d it for 16 minutes. fed two people. delicious

I would think the meatball version would be just fine, and ALOT less time! :)

Texaslovely99 September 3, 2010 at 1:02 am

This looks so good, can’t wait to taste it, do you think it would work with meatballs instead of patties? Monica

sparklepinklady September 3, 2010 at 1:33 am

I have made this recipe three times since you posted it the first time. I substitute ground turkey for the beef but my family LOVES it, they fight over who has how many pieces and start cheering when they see it simmering on the stove !! This one is a HIT…………….. !!!
